Activity Experience

As for activity for this semester, my goal is to bench press 30 kg. I have absolutely no previous experience bench pressing, and it is something new and exciting for me.

New PR

On February 22nd I went to the gym with the hopes of maybe achieving a new PR. I started my workout with my usual arm workout, which usually takes me around 50 minutes to finish. Then I debated for a moment whether I should try to go for a new PR or go home. I decided to stay and give it a chance. I did 2 sets (2x8) with my previous PR, which was 23kg and then added another 1kg plate on each side so that both sides would have 2.5 kg weights. I struggled on the first set and then I barely managed to complete the second set. I did, however manage to lift it a few times and I'll call it a progress.

New PR

On February 4th, I managed to bench press 23 kg (20kg barbell, 1.5 kg weights on each side). I was able to do 2 full sets before I felt my strength drop. I'm planning to bench press 23kg this Friday (16.02) and try to raise the weight to either 25 or 26kg on Monday. If I have difficulty with that, I'll keep the weight at 23kg for another week.
